Worldwide Auctioneers

While touring the Worldwide headquarters with John Kruse of Worldwide Auctioneers, I quickly saw the vision John had been speaking of so passionately. Located on the DeKalb and Allen County line in Auburn, Indiana, the Worldwide facility is extremely visible from the freeway, with the showroom located only 63 feet from the passing traffic. It is also conveniently located close to the airport and Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum. As we made our way around the work site, John explained what made Worldwide so unique. One of those features is a 3/8 mile test track, where potential buyers can test drive vehicles before bidding. I don't know of any other auction that will allow that! Another unique feature of Worldwide that John didn't mention, but I picked up on immediately, is the touch of class added with everything they do. Everyone I've met from the company has been extremely courteous and friendly. National Impala Club 29th International Convention

It's show time in Charlotte for the National Impala Club host their 29th Annual International Convention! The show brought together local Impala owners and enthusiast traveling from across the country. It was truly amazing to have gathered together Impala years ranging from 1958 to 1970.

The five day event started with a traditional "Meet and Greet," and continued throughout the week with various activities for the passionate owners of these beautiful classics. The N.I.A members had the opportunity to participate in Day at the Dragway, Cruise and Picnic Dinner, Judging Event, Awards Banquet and more!

There are a couple classic models not normally present in cruise-ins or car show events, and that would be the Chevrolet Impala. The '69 Impala SS 427 Convertible is a fantastic classic, and it was exciting to see one at this event.

Lamborghini Murciélago LP670 R-SV by REITER Engineering

The new Lamborghini LP670 R-SV by REITER Engineering was unveiled to the public few months after the official presentation Geneva. Lamborghini GT1 race car is presented to the public at the 24-hours of SPA. Car is based on the Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4.

It is equipped with a more powerful 6.5 V12 engine, which produce 670 PS/493 kW. The FIA-ECU from Magneti Marelli regulates the engine control.

The Lamborghini P670 R-SV is designed and manufactured to comply with the FIA 2010 regulations. The FIA allows 6 automobile brands to be nominated. The race car is targeting to be nominated for the GT World Championship.

The GT1 machine from REITER measures 4800 mm in length and is 2058 mm wide. The total weight is only 1,150 kg (+ ballast to correspond with the FIA 2010 regulations).

A complete carbon outer skin clothes the Lamborghini racer. Its new visual appearance is unmistakable – extreme and uncompromising. The significantly modified aerodynamics improves the aerodynamic efficiency compared to its predecessor the Murciélago R-GT.

In addition, the engineers could also improve the suspension geometry. Compared to its forerunner, the new suspension geometry with modified roll-centre height and improved steering geometry, modified track width and re-engineered suspension components characterise the new Lamborghini race car.

The race braking system, comprised of carbon discs and pads, was also re-engineered and is now equipped with superior cooling.

UK Police Replace Imprezas With New Lexus IS-F

Objects you do not want to see in your rear-view mirror: Hungry dinosaurs, pissed-off exes holding rifles, mushroom clouds and this guy. Indeed, you're looking at a Lexus IS-Force, an IS-F that's been converted to a cruiser for police duty in the English county of Humberside, which includes the notoriously criminally minded port city of Hull. For the past few years, Humberside bobbies have been chasing baddies in Subaru Imprezas, but the AWD cars just weren't up to the task at hand. What to replace 'em with? Here's what the cops were thinking, according to Sergeant Mike Peck:

"The Lexus was tested during a 12-month period along with similar vehicles and proved itself to be ideally suited in providing a dynamically safe high performance chassis along with an electronically stable platform for the computer equipment. In the past this equipment has placed huge demands on vehicles but the Lexus IS-F easily met with our requirements. The final product provides a most formidable package and is undoubtedly one of the most advanced police vehicles in the world which in turn enables my officers to deal with the criminals who use the roads for serious and organized crime."

Well, not quite extras, because if you know the Lexus brand well enough, they rarely come with an options list, as all the trick stuff is fitted as standard kit. It’s one of the brand’s main selling points, apart from the near faultless reliability and subsequent cost of ownership.These options include on-board computers and communications equipment.

However, Lexus produce mostly soft luxury cars don’t they? Mostly.

But this is the Lexus IS-F, powered by a 5-litre V8 engine, which has been specially tuned to deliver blistering acceleration and a top speed of 270km/h.

''Gemballa Mirage GT Matt Edition''

World famous tuning company “Gemballa” presented new modification of Porsche Carrera GT. The name of this supercar is “Gemballa Mirage GT Matt Edition”.

This Mirage GT has 650hp and is capable of 0-100km/h (62mph) in 3.7 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the stan­dard car. 0 – 200km/h is also dealt with in 0.2 seconds less, 9.7 seconds in total. It tops out at 335 km/h (208mph).

The exterior looks stunning as always with Mirage GT’s. The mix of matte black paint work and silver accents really make the car stand out. As with most tuners, Gemballa have added a garish ‘one-off’ theme to the car. A mixture of black material, blue alcantara and a space age-looking silver material...

The “Gemballa Mirage GT Matt Edition” will be sold in extremely limited numbers with a price tag of $420,000.

Hot Summer Nights in Lafayette

The Lafayette Kroozers Car Club hosted their annual Hot Summer Nights cruise-in and car show this past weekend. The events were held in the Market Square Shopping Center, a perfect location for people to gather and admire some beautiful vehicles. As I walked through the cruise on Friday with a strawberry shake in hand, I was extremely impressed by the amount of quality vehicles! Every engine was meticulously detailed, and the rest of the car (body, interior, undercarriage) followed suit. And there was a bunch of variety! I saw an unbelievable 29' Chevrolet all the way up to a 2010 Camaro SS. That's what I love about open car shows and cruises, you see so many different makes and models that it gives you a deeper appreciation for the automobile. It also helps you determine what your favorite car is. Here's a question for you: What is your favorite car and why? Is it because it looks cool? Whatever your reason for liking these 'works of art', it's always great to get out there and attend shows and cruises and show support for the hobby.

The rain didn't scare anyone away Saturday morning. Over a hundred cars showed up to support the car show and there were thousands of spectators throughout the day coming to check out what was going on. After the awards, the Lafayette Kroozers invited everyone out for a BBQ. To me, that was a touch of class! For the club to host a car show, then after a long day of hard work, invite everyone out to feed them after the show really means a lot. It means they're passionate about the hobby and giving people a place to gather. They even gave out dash plaques and awards and door prizes at the BBQ! It was like a whole other mini-show! New Mercedes E-Class Successfully Launched

News from Stuttgart – The new E-Class has gotten off to a very successful start, with more than 40,000 units delivered to customers since the market introduction in spring 2009. Mercedes-Benz expects sales of the new E-Class to receive a further boost in the coming months from the vehicle’s introduction in key markets including the U.S. and China and the launch of the new station wagon in fall 2009.

The new E-Class models have outstanding fuel economy. The sedan’s four- and six-cylinder engines have direct injection systems and consume far less fuel than their predecessors despite their greater output. This month also marked the sales release of two new four-cylinder engines, which combine higher fuel efficiency with the level of driving comfort that is typical of Mercedes-Benz.

The two new units round out the Mercedes-Benz engine range in the business class. The E 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 100 kW/136 hp consumes 5.2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers. And the new E 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY with direct injection delivers 135 kW/184 hp and consumes only 7.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. The model program of the sporty coupe also includes two new four-cylinder engines that require significantly less fuel while offering a clear increase of output and torque. The E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY coupe consumes just 5.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers while emitting only 135 grams of CO2 per kilometer, which makes it one of the most economical automobiles in its class.

The special characteristics of the new E-Class include not only a high level of environmental friendliness, but also a unique combination of driver assistance systems. Approximately a dozen different assistance systems are available to customers, including new Mercedes-Benz developments such as Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, and Night View Assist. These technologies make the E-Class a “thinking” partner that can not only see, feel, and respond to dangers by means of its “reflexes,” but also act independently to prevent accidents or minimize their effects.

The new E-Class is the successor of an internationally successful Mercedes-Benz model. About 1.5 million sedans and station wagons of that predecessor model, the 211 series, have been delivered to customers since its market launch six years ago. Over the past 60 years, the eight generations of the E-Class sedan have thrilled ten million customers worldwide, making it the most successful business sedan in the world.

Audi S4 Tuned by ABT Sportsline - 425 HP

First release we know about, it's the new Audi S4 (2010) with a supercharged V6 engine.
One of the first companies who managed to tune S4 is Abt Sportsline, Germany’s largest VW/Audi tuner and they did not disappoint...

Output has been increased from the stock 333HP to 425HP and torque also gets a significant bump from 325 ft-lbs to 384 ft-lbs. New Audi’s incredible seven-speed DSG gearbox, the sprint to 62 mph (100km/h) takes just 4.6 seconds instead of stock Audi S4 - 5.1 seconds

ABT POWER even makes the already quick Audi S4 faster. Although the V6 compressor with three litre cubic capacity is already very sporty with its 333 HP (245kW), anyone who wants even more dynamism and torque can obtain a super sports car with the ABT S4: the decent-elegant car then brings 435 HP or 320 kW onto the road. And the additional 102 horsepower, which are employed in the ABT S4, suit the car extremely well in terms of nutrition: it achieves 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds, while in the series standard this takes 5.1 seconds. A half a second difference is an eternity for high-performance vehicles of this kind. The top speed is 282 km/h – and that is 32 km/h more than the Audi S4. This is because the engine, tuned by ABT Sportsline, is, of course, supplied without a V-max limit.

The torque of the engine optimised in Allgäu also appears to be as strong as an ox: instead of 440 Nm now 520 Nm are available – an increase of around 19 percent. As a result the 3.0 TFSI gets to work powerfully in any situation. The extra performance brings additional driving enjoyment and shows its superiority in practically all seven gears of the DSG gearbox. The consumption – and thereby the environmental pollution – is, however, no greater than with the series engine. On the other hand the driving-dynamic difference is revealed on main roads and motorways, as because the ABT S4 does everything even better, it is sportier. Capable of a powerful acceleration to top speed, the six cylinders now get to business. The Allgäu tuner recommends the 4-pipe sports exhaust unit and the ABT AR or BR wheels as fitting supplements to the power image of the car. The smart “round pieces” are available in sizes from 18 to 20 inches and can be supplied with fitting sports tires.

'Top Gear' review: Jaguar X-FR vs BMW M5

Top Gear's latest episode Jeremy Clarkson makes a review about Jaguar XF-R and puts it against the mighty, powerful BMW M5. The Jaguar XFR is the fastest car the company has ever built with a top speed of 225.675mph (363.188km/h). This speed is recorded in January on the Bonneville Salt Flats (Utah, USA) . Bugatti EB 110 Crash During Bavaria Moscow City Racing

Bugatti EB110, the model shown in the video here crashed in Moscow. The car, one of only 139 ever produced, crashed into a cement gutter and embankment on the side of the road during the Bavaria Moscow City Racing 2009 event.

At 25-second mark you will see the rear passenger wheel snap off and fly up into the air. The rear bumper looks to have been partially torn off, which also forced open one of the scissors-doors.

The EB110 was built to celebrate the 110th birthdate of Ettore Bugatti, and is the predecessor to the Veyron. The four-wheel drive car features a mid-engined 3.5-liter quad-turbo V12 that produces up to 542 horsepower. It has a 0-100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds, and a 343 km/h (213 mph) top speed. A year after its 1991 debut, Bugatti released a SuperSport model that shaved the 0-100 km/h time by 0.2 seconds, while increasing the top speed to 348 km/h (216 mph). The SS debuted at $350,000.

According to newspaper the accident took place during the second supercar parade. Behind the wheel was a Russian man with a "supermodel girlfriend" sitting in the passenger seat. Both seemed to be undamaged physically, but the destruction of a $2 million car likely caused some emotional damage.
