2011 Honda Civic

the facelifted version of the car has been unveiled, read all about it here: 2011 Honda Civic Facelift: official details, photos, specs and price]. According to the latest reports, the next-generation of the Honda Civic will be officially unveiled in 2010 and expected by the dealers in 2011.
Like the current version, the new vehicle will be available in two versions, with 3 or 5 doors. The new generation will use petrol and diesel engines but will also offer a hybrid version, powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 150 hp. Later, the Type-R version will come showing more than 200 hp.For those who don’t know, the current Honda Civic Hybrid is powered by a 1.3L i-VTEC 4-cylinder, mated to electric motors.
However, it appears that the next-generation will use the same hybrid powertrain found on the 2011 Honda CR-Z. The CR-Z uses a 1.5-liter i VTEC 4-cylinder engine which delivers 102 hp and an electric motor capable to deliver 20 hp. The total output delivered by the car is 122 hp and 128 lb-ft. of torque at 1,000 to 1,500 rpm (123 lb-ft on CVT-equipped models).
The new Civic Hybrid could also be the first car in the Honda lineup to receive the rumored, next-generation lithium ion batteries. Sources confirmed the fact that Honda is currently working on new lithium ion batteries, but we will know for sure after the Japanese manufacturer will release some official details regarding the new car.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

After six teaser images, Lamborghini has finally unwrapped the Sesto Elemento. The concept comes with an overall curb weight of just 2,202 lbs, a V10 power unit, and permanent all-wheel drive, as well as innovative carbon-fiber technologies. The concept is the only vehicle manufactured in the world to have mastered the complete CFRP process across a range of technologies, from 3D design through simulation, validation, production, and testing
The V10 engine delivers an amazing 570 HP and has a power-to-weight ratio of only 1.75 kilograms per hp. This allows the concept to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a sensational 2.5 seconds, while top speed will be higher than 186 mph.
The Sesto Elemento features a lightweight carbon-fiber structure with the entire front frame, exterior panels, and crash boxes also made of CFRP. The major suspension components and the rims are also made from carbon fiber and the tailpipes are made from Pyrosic, which is an advanced glass-ceramic matrix composite. Carbon fiber is also present in the interior on the floor and roof of the monocoque, on the doors, and on the cockpit and center console.
Updated 11/10/2010: In a recent report, Automotive News says that Lamborghini will put the Sesto Elemento concept into limited production. There will be 5 to 10 units built, and like usual the exclusivity has a big price: 2,5 million Euro (almost $3,500,000 at the current exchange rates). Now that the Murcielago is out of production, Lamborghini’s sales will have to suffer, and this decision was made in an attempt to improve the company’s profit that has been hit hard by the global economic crisis.

Belgium Supercar

Belgian supercar unveiled
This is the Gillet Vertigo .5 Spirit. It is ugly.

Produced by Tony Gillet - he of Automobiles Gillet fame, naturally - it weighs 950kg, sports a chassis made from Carbon Nomex, has 350mm six-piston brakes, a six-speed sequential gearbox and, according to Google Translate, is 'financially the most accessible of supercars'.

It now comes fitted with a
Maserati-sourced 4.2-litre V8 producing 420bhp, which, combined with that low weight, should make for some cracking acceleration times. Which, frankly, you'd require. It is ugly.

Lamborghini Gallardo

A man has walked away unharmed after a highly modified Lamborghini Gallardo crashed at over 100mph in Texas.

Richard Holt was piloting an astonishing 1,900bhp twin-turbo Gallardo prepared by Underground Racing when he hit the brakes, deployed the parachute and attempted to stop.

However, crosswinds unsettled the supercar, and it clipped a wall off the edge of the runway, launching the two-door exotic into a violent barrel roll.

Holt, who had just hit a staggering 235mph before the crash, walked away virtually unharmed. He was flown to the nearest hospital with no major injuries, but light bruising.

A member of the racing team said: "it is nothing short of a miracle, considering the magnitude of the accident."

Gran Turismo 5

Gran Turismo 5 will hit european stores on Wednesday 24 November, in the year 2010.

No, wait! Come back! A very official-sounding press release from the makers of GT5 has confirmed the highly anticipated racing sim will finally come amongst us at the end of November.

Gaming god and
Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi quipped: "Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Programme!

"Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly.

"I can only apologise to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed."

Is this the world fastest saloon car?

Is this the world’s fastest coupe?
This is the G-Power M6 Hurricane RR; an 800bhp modified street weapon capable of a 231mph top speed.

Its wicked, iniquitous and downright evil creators trumpet it as 'the world's fastest four-seat coupe'. We're not ones to eat the saccharine donuts PR people are feeding us without looking at the fat content, so after an exhaustive, five-minute-long search on a computer, we have concluded G-Power is wrong. Sort of.
See pics of the G-Power M6 Hurricane RR

How could this be? After all, the M6 Hurricane RR packs a twin-supercharged 5.0-litre
BMW V10 engine - now defunct, of course - packing 800 mercilessly tortured horses and 590lb ft of torque. It'll hit 62mph in 4.3 seconds, 124mph in 9.5 and 186mph in 24.9.

It comes with 20-inch forged alloy wheels, a high-performance braking system, G-Power coilover suspension (9-way adjustable) and some carbon-fibre tat inside.

Now, G-Power reckons this M6 will hit 231mph - the same as the M5 Hurricane RR - and at first glance, this seems untouchable. But earlier this year,
Brabus revealed its E-Class V12 Coupe, a twin-turbo 788bhp monster capable 'of reaching speeds in excess of 230mph'. Now, if that 'in excess of' is just 2mph, G-Power is wrong and the Brabus E V12 is the fastest four-seater on earth

Formula 1 Buggy...

Extreme drive: Formula Off-Roader
Welcome to the world of Formula Off-Road, where the words ‘Motorsport is dangerous' ring very true, and the thrills involved reflect the madness. The rules, of F-Off-Road (interesting semi-acronym that) are actually pretty simple. Vehicles attempt to drive a course that incorporates a series of gates. To complete the course, you must pass through the gates without touching them in the fastest time possible. The twist being that the ‘course' usually involves giant, perpendicular cliff faces of black sand and ex-lava, and the cars are incredible 800bhp V8 buggies that literally dig their way up the cliffs, often running over vertical, shooting skywards and then crashing thousands of feet to the bottom. The trucks also cross water, skipping over the surface on their bucket tyres. If ever there was a need for YouTube, this is it.
